Slovakia s newly appointed prime minister, Robert Fico, promised on Wednesday to pursue an independent foreign policy, which may put the central European nation on a collision course with Brussels.
Robert Fico’s party Smer won election in Slovakia in September with 22.94% of the vote. After the elections, Fico formed coalition with Hlas party and SNS (Slovak National Party). Fico will lead the gorvenment, while Hlas will control the parliament.
Ukraine fatigue has been spreading on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean as domestic problems continue to pile up and Kiev is not showing any achievements on the battlefield, the Western mainstream press says.
