Microsoft brings vertical tabs to Edge 89, announces Bing search improvements

Microsoft today announced the list of features making it to the browser this month with the release of version 89. The blog is part of the ‘What’s New in Web Experiences’ series of posts that aligns with the release schedule for the stable version of Edge. Most of these features have been present in the Insider channels, so if you’ve been running Canary, Dev, or Beta builds, you might be familiar with most of them. Microsoft Edge has got a bunch of new themes and features that boost productivity as well as browser performance. To mark the browser s first-year anniversary, Microsoft says that it has created 24 new themes allowing users to personalise their browsers. The company says it will add more themes over time. The sidebar search is now generally available in Microsoft Edge, allowing users to quickly search answers of their queries. Microsoft Outlook also gets a deeper integration with the browser. Microsoft released a new stable version of its Chromium-based Edge web browser on January 21, 2021. Microsoft Edge 88 is a security and feature update that introduces several new features and changes to the browser.
The company released the first stable version of the new Microsoft Edge in January 2020.
Edge users who have not received the new version already can load edge://settings/help in the browser or select Menu > Help > About Microsoft Edge to run a manual check for updates. The update component downloads and installs the update then on the machine Edge is run on.
