Ahead of the Utah Legislature’s vote to override Gov. Spencer Cox’s veto of a bill banning transgender girls from female school sports, Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall and the Salt Lake City Council issued a joint statement stating Utah’s capital “loves and supports our transgender and non-binary friends.”
