DeKALB – The Northern Star won 14 awards from the 2023 Illinois College Press Association Awards. ICPA awards were distributed to Illinois student-run newspapers in 36 categories of competition. DeKALB – The NIU men’s soccer team will be competing in the Missouri Valley Conference following the announcement that the Mid-American Conference will no longer sponsor men’s soccer beginning with the 2023-24 academic year due to a lack of membership. DeKALB The first positive case of monkeypox has been reported at NIU, according to an email sent to students, faculty and staff by NIU president Lisa Freeman on Thursday.
