Weather by Benedict Brook 4th Feb 2021 4:31 PM The heaviest rain in months is set to hit Western Australia, and Perth in particular, in the coming days. But it may not be enough to fully extinguish the raging bushfires. In fact a tropical low heading Perth s way could potentially make things worse if it fails to bring rain but only delivers strong winds. It s not just WA though. South east Australia is also in line for a battering as a band of unsettled weather, stretching from Queensland all the way down to Tasmania, brings heavy downfalls and gale force winds. A severe weather warning is in place across much of Victoria, including Melbourne, with the peak danger on Friday.
