Skowhegan Animal Shelter Receives Donation of a New Snowblower
Let s face it, if we think it s been tough on our for-profit businesses during this pandemic (which it has), think for just a moment how much this has affected Maine s not-for-profit businesses. The short answer? A lot.
However, Maine is a place where we take care of our own. We check on our neighbors, we lend a helping hand and, most importantly, we ve always got each other s backs. There s no greater example of this then what just happened on the road a piece at the Skowhegan Animal Shelter.
Because of the pandemic, the shelter s typical fundraising year was, well, bleak at best. Many of the events and activities that the shelter does to help raise operating costs had to be tabled in 2020 due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. What does all this mean? It means the shelter hasn t been able to properly keep up on things that they really need. One of those things being a snowblower.
