HALIFAX Swimming Pool will not be re-opening after the Covid-19 pandemic, says Calderdale Council. Severe structural deterioration means that for the safety of its staff and users, it will not be possible for the facility to reopen, says the authority. Along with other leisure facilities in the borough, Halifax Pool is currently closed due to Covid restrictions. The council says the more than 50-year-old Skircoat Road site has been subject to numerous maintenance problems and system failures, requiring continued repairs for many years to allow its continued operation. Some of its systems are now obsolete and have become increasingly difficult to repair as parts are no longer available.
