A COUPLE whose romance began in a fish and chip shop in Sutton-in-Craven and who married at the tender ages of 18 and 16, celebrate their golden wedding anniversary tomorrow (Friday, December 18). Jimmy and Susan Persson, now living at Kildwick Grange, hope to have a family celebration next year when the pandemic is over and say they are looking forward to enjoying a get-together. I saw Susan in the chippy a few times as we waited to be served and I used to ask her if she was courting. She always was until one occasion she said no so I replied, well, you re coming out with me .
