He said the essence of the campaign was to contribute to cushioning Nigeria’s security challenges, as according to him, it has become obvious that a large number of idle youths in Nigeria was susceptible to social vices.
Mr Gabriel said, “So we’re using today, being the World Youth Skills Day, to encourage young people rather than sitting idle and waiting for manna to fall from heaven or waiting for the government to empower everybody. Look around you and go out there and learn a skill.”
According to him, the initiative is opening a portal, www.dtdei.com, from August 1, 2021, through which potential apprentices will visit the site and fill a form either as skilled business owners or apprentices.
