patti ann, apparently the ski patrol is trying to evacuate off the lift people remaining there. patti ann: there were still 100 people on the lift apparently when these five chairs derailed. who apparently witnessed it. there are reports that there were people screaming and there are injuries. again we don t know how serious the injuries are at this point. we can only hope they re not that serious. but we do have a quote from the sugarloaf spokesman, calling the accident a big deal, which obviously does not sound very positive. we have that spokesperson telling us specifically there was a derailment on one of our lifts. the cable derailed from a tower. it went over the edge of the sleeve. the cable derailed. it was between 103030 and 10:40 this morning. as a result five chairs attached to the cable fell to the snow on the ground below. there are reported injuries. ski patrol is responding. ey re evacuating skiers and treating anyone injured. gregg: apparently, emergency

patti ann: a big accident to report at a ski resort in maine on sugarloaf mountain. apparently according to reports fox has confirmed that cables on one of the chair lifts derailed and five chairs came falling down. a spokesperson for the mountain, ethan austin, says the accident in his words, quote, a big deal. in addition to the people who apparently fell off the lift, there were about 100 people who were then stranded on that chair lift. this happened at sugarloaf mountain in maine, a big deal supposedly when a derailment occurred of five chairs falling from a chair lift at that ski resort. we ll have more details as we get them. in the meantime extreme weather continues blizzard warnings across the northeast have been lifted
