While northern New Mexico’s ski resorts receive plenty of attention and are lauded across the country for their fine conditions, including its famous powder, southern New Mexico can boast a couple of ski areas that are notable for being among the farthest south in the U.S.
What’s more, Ski Apache near Ruidoso, and Ski Cloudcroft just a bit farther south, offer some excellent terrain and fewer skiers than their cousins to the north.
