Concord School Board members took a unanimous stance against legislation that would ban “divisive concepts” being taught in schools, joining other education institutions around the state who are also denouncing the former bill that is now part of the New Hampshire state budget.
School board member Kate West introduced the statement opposing HB544 at Monday’s meeting, and the board approved it 8-0.
“As a school district, we encourage students to critically analyze the world around them and learn the ways sexism and racism are interwoven into our systems and cultures, so that as a community, we can work together to end the cycles of these inequities,” the motion read.
