Before 2008, the Early Modern Studies (EMS) series was known as Sixteenth Century Essays & Studies (SCE&S). Beginning in 2018, EMS and selected titles in SCE&S are being distributed by Pennsylvania State University Press, which has taken over the EMS series. The Peter Martyr Library (part of SCE&S) is now being handled by the Davenant Institute/Peter Martyr Society.
