The Gujarat High Court today criticised the state government over the recent fire at a COVID-19 hospital in Bharuch, saying it was contemptuous on its part to not remain vigilant and avoid such incidents, and cited many orders passed in this regard in the past.
Nagpur: The Vidarbha region on Monday reported 262 deaths due to Covid-19, highest ever for a day in the pandemic. As it was Sunday on April 18, number of total tests done in the region reduced to 47,000 from the earlier days 70,000+ figure. Due to this, the number of new cases also reduced to 12,812.
Authorities reported 10,897 patients recovered in a day, a five figure recovery figure for the second time in April. Overall, Vidarbha’s total Covid-19 case load reached above 6.88 lakh including 5.42 lakh recoveries and 11,597 deaths. Recovery rate of Vidarbha is still under 79% while the case fatality rate further reduced to 1.68% on Monday.
