Overtime, 2 to 3 hours at the end of a shift but this is raising concerns about fatigue. The latest count shows Police Staffing down 221 sworn officers from full strength. Officers are going to be asked additional 2, or 3 hours, at the end of the shifts f there arent enough volunteers, mandatory overtime will be required. It doesnt sit well with the Police Officer association. Officers are involved in a voluntary program to fill the holes. Now, this mandatory overtime is another sign the city council failed to address the problems to keep our neighborhoods unsafe. The nagging issue has been pension reform, prompting recruits and officers to leave for other departments. Officer Albert Morales speaks for the chief. We understand officers are working and tired now. We understand that were asking a lot of them.
