HOLLISTON When Matt Berg learned in late 2019 that Vermont-based Stonecutter Spirits planned to close its doors, he first asked his brother living in the Green Mountain State to pick up one last case of its gin. Wow, this is easy, Berg remembers saying when he first tried the product while visiting his brother Chris in Springfield, Vermont. Not too harsh. It sits nice.
Over time, Matt and his other brother, Keith, made it a point to partake in Stonecutter s gin which is aged in bourbon barrels to offer a balanced taste of juniper, cardamom, orange peel, caramel and oak whenever they visited Chris.
