Fifteen workers at a construction site in Laksi district of Bangkok were found to be infected with the Indian variant of Covid-19.
Many workers at the camp were infected with standard strain of Covid-19, Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Friday.

BANGKOK, May 11 (The Nation Thailand/ANN): Thailand has widened its travel ban to international arrivals from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal in a bid to prevent the Indian variant of Covid-19 from entering the country.
However, the Royal Thai Embassy in Pakistan said that holders of Thai visas (except tourist visas) may travel to Thailand before May 15.

Some areas in Poipet, some near the Thai border, have been closed by Cambodian authorities after a Covid-19 spike in the township.

Thailand has closed its border to foreign travellers arriving from three more countries in the Indian subcontinent on the back of the first confirmed cases of the Indian variant of Covid-19 in the country.
There has been a ban on foreigners coming from India entering Thailand since May 1.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanee Sangrat said on Monday the Thai embassies in Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan had now also stopped issuing certificates of entry for non-Thai nationals, from May 10 until further notice.
