(Klas Stolpe / KINY) Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Legislative Conference Committee made up of members of both the House and Senate met over the weekend to hash out the state s budget.
The Senate had gone into the negations with a dividend proposal of $2,300 while the House had no proposed amount.
An amendment was made to the Senate amount by Sitka State Senator Bert Stedman which provides for an approximate $1,100 dividend.
The total cost of the dividend is 739 million. 370 million will be from the general fund, 320 million from the statutory budget reserve fund, and 48 million from the constitutional budget reserve fund.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Wednesday announced an $18.7 million contract to renovate its Ketchikan dock facility to allow the research vessel Fairweather to homeport in Ketchikan, a project that has been in the works for nearly 20 years.
The project will include the construction of a new office building, a âlarge floating pier, steel access trestle, and updated power and water utility systems for servicing the Fairweather and other visiting ships,â according to a press release from Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan on Wednesday morning.
The project will be completed by Alaska-based Ahtna Infrastructure and Technologies LLC. Work on the project is expected to conclude by the end of 2022.
