Newa; also called Newars are the natives of Kathmandu Valley on Thursday, are celebrating the annual festival of Sithi Nakha to mark the beginning of the monsoon season by cleaning water sources such as ponds, wells, and stone spouts.
KATHMANDU, May 25: The Newar community across the country including in the Kathmandu Valley is celebrating the Sithi Nakha festival today by worshiping the water sources such as wells, traditional water spouts, springs, ponds and taps. Prior to the worshiping, such water sources were cleaned.
