Since late April, SiteMinder’s World Hotel Index has hovered between 90% and 100% of 2019’s record-breaking year for hotel bookings, as we witness a new pattern of consistency for the global accommodation industry. Below is a snapshot of some of the markets and nations contributing to this trend.

Hotel bookings from international travellers to Indonesia reach highest point in almost two-and-a-half years

According to new data from SiteMinder, the world’s leading open hotel commerce platform, hotels in Indonesia are now experiencing their highest volume of bookings from international guests since February 2020.SiteMinder’s World Hotel Index, the leading indicator of hotel reservation and guest arrival trends globally, displays that so far in July, 45% of bookings to SiteMinder’s Indonesian hotels for future stays have been from international travellers a trend that has been accelerating since February 2022 when restrictions on incoming travellers were relaxed.Compared to prior to the pandemic, booking volumes to SiteMinder’s Indonesian hotels are currently at 88% of 2019 levels, up from a low of just 7% of 2019 levels in April 2020.Commenting on the data and the market’s recovery, SiteMinder’s market vice president – Asia Pacific, Bradley Haines says, "With a strong reliance on international travel, Indonesia’s accommodation sector has certainly felt the repercuss
