Win Tickets to Nunsense

Country 94.7 KTTS wants to send you out for a night with the Nunsense. The Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show. Here we meet Reverend Mother Regina, a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. Featuring star turns, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, this show has become an international phenomenon. With more than 5000 productions worldwide, it has been translated into 21 languages.

Oklahoma City's Lyric Theatre is bringing the show 'Nunsense' to the Myriad Botanical Gardens' Water Stage

Oklahoman From wind gusts blowing around set pieces to ducks wandering onto the stage to the choreographer keeping actors out of the moat around the stage, Ashley Wells is embracing the shenanigans sometimes involved in creating outdoor theater.  Yes, there s an actual moat, which is a good thing for our COVID world that we re in right now, because we don t have to worry about how close we are to the audience. . But it really does require us to think about the choreography and the blocking, said Wells, Lyric Theatre s associate artistic director.  Luckily, this show is great in that we re breaking the fourth wall all the time anyway and speaking to the audience. So, if we need to talk to a duck to get it off the stage, it s totally fine. We can do that.
