JEAN MARC HERVE ABELARD/EPA/MAXPPP We have been singing Hallelujahs ever since we learned of their release, said a member of the Sisters of Providence of Pommeraye in Angers (France).
The last six of the 10 Catholics, including priests and women religious, who were taken hostage on April 11 in Haiti were freed during the night between April 29-30.
Their release came on the final day of a novena that the Diocese of Anger launched to pray for Providence Sister Agnès Bordeau, an 80-year-old native of the diocese who was among those taken captive. They are safe and sound, but very tired, said Sister Mariannick Caniou, superior general of Bordeau s congregation.
