Beginning the difficult task of arranging end-of-life plans, 79-year-old Sissy Hettinger knew one thing for sure: She wanted to be entombed in a mausoleum. It’s something she had envisioned ever since she visited a nearby cemetery decades ago with her garden club.
Knowing what she wanted, however, didn t make the process which she and her family began in early 2020 any easier, given that there weren t many available options that suited the Blacklick resident.
Her son Peter Hettinger said they had all but exhausted their search for the perfect locale by the end of the year. That’s when they discovered that Green Lawn Abbey had just begun selling crypts and other interment spaces for the first time in more than 50 years.
