Mandya district has recorded 190 deaths in road accidents between January and April, raising serious concerns about the safety of road users. Police have identified 34 black spots and have written to the government for assistance in improving these accident-prone areas. Two-wheeler accidents are the highest compared to other vehicles. Superintendent of police N Yathish confirmed the death toll and highlighted the increase in deaths compared to the previous year. Measures will be taken to regulate and reduce fatal cases, with an emphasis on awareness, enforcement against drunken driving, and monitoring speeding.
