After a long year of lockdowns, stars of the West End, Broadway, and international music arenas will gather for a rousing, spine-tingling extravaganza in the magnificent grounds. Picnic Proms Summer Series is a three-day series of concerts featuring musical theatre legends, orchestral icons, a symphonic spectacular and spellbinding silent firework displays. Alfie Boe and his band will open the series of concerts on Friday, September 3, 2021. Ever since he exploded onto the music scene nearly 20 years ago, Alfie Boe, a veteran of the London stage and Broadway, has racked up one extraordinary achievement after another.

Dame Judi Dench lends support to Aberdeen University s singing project

Aberdeen University’s campaign to bring the world together in song has received backing from an Oscar-winning actress and legendary composer. Dame Judi Dench and legendary composer Burt Bacharach have recorded supportive messages for the iSing4Peace global music project. It brought together singers of all abilities to perform in a charity single led by Scottish singer and songwriter, Fiona Kennedy, accompanied by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Among the hundreds of participants from around the world who each recorded their own version of the song, Stronger for the Storm, were, an 82-year-old services veteran, an NHS doctor and a sign-language choir. The project also gained the support of world-famous baritone Sir Willard White.
