May 12, 2021 SIOUX FALLS, S.D. Pauline Striemer, age 93, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, in Fairmont, Minn., after a very wonderful life. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 1401 S. Covell Ave. in Sioux Falls. The family will be present to visit with friends beginning noon Thursday at the church. Interment will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021, at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont, Minn. Pauline was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Fairmont, Minn., to Arthur and Clara Striemer. She attended Amber Lake Country School through the eighth grade. She graduated from Fairmont High School, and attended the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, where she earned a degree in library science. After college, Pauline worked a short time at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Pauline then accepted a position with the Sioux Falls Library system. (Dakota News Now) - A mother-daughter duo is traveling the country and donating books with the hope of shedding light on mental illness. Sonja Wasden is a suicide survivor. She and her daughter Rachel have written a book as a way to help people better understand mental illness. They’ve visited libraries in more than 40 states, including South Dakota, in an effort to break the stigma surrounding mental health.
