Wanless is walking 350 miles of the Iditarod Trail this week and chronicling his progress online. The uniqueness of the opportunity is what attracted him to the challenge. He likes the ability to get himself to places most people can t go, Ryan s wife, Emily, said. I think that is really what motivates him.
The Iditarod Trail is more than 1,000 miles and covers the length of Alaska. The trail is commonly trekked by people with sled dogs, and every year the Iditarod Sled Dog Trail Race is held.
