Episode three picked up from last Sunday’s shocking ending, which saw Tom Brannick kill Adam Cory – the brother of one of Goliath’s victims – in a surprising move. We now know that Pat Keenan’s kidnapper was not Goliath, but actually someone looking for the serial killer with the intention of making the police reopen their case – but who is the kidnapper and who is Goliath?

In a gasp-inducing twist, DCI Tom Brannick (James Nesbitt) coldly shot Adam Corry (Ian McElhinney) in the head on that windswept isle in Strangford Lough. So is our brow-furrowing, rugby-loving hero actually the Troubles-era serial killer responsible for multiple murders in 1998 and now active again?

Island grave gave up its secrets
We picked up where we left off: on the suitably desolate island in Strangford Lough where police had made a grim discovery. There were three skeletons, meaning one presumed victim of the long-dormant assassin code-named Goliath was still whereabouts unknown. They’d all been shot in the head at close quarters with a 9mm pistol, execution-style.
