DevelopTT has digitally inter-connected six (6) Municipal Corporations throughout Trinidad and Tobago through the live run of the T1 and T5 regional areas which include Port of Spain, Diego Martin and environs and County Caroni and parts of the San Juan Laventille Regional Corporation.

Government strengthens the Maritime Sector in T&T 17 February, 2021:  This month the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) under the strengthening of the Single Electronic Window (SEW) for Trade and Business Facilitation Programme, in partnership with the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) began work to develop a  National Maritime Policy and Strategy for Trinidad and Tobago. Over the years, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has conducted various studies and consultations on the maritime sector. A review of these has highlighted, among other things, the absence of a formal maritime policy as a major institutional gap. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) in its 2017 Member State Audit Scheme Report on Trinidad and Tobago also identified the deficiency and promoted the development of a Policy as part of a wider economic and transport plan. Trade Licence Unit modernising operations

Moving from paper to digital, the Trade Licence Unit (TLU) of the Ministry of Trade and Industry has achieved a significant milestone in its modernisation efforts to further improve T&T s trade and business environment. The TLU is responsible for processing applications for various licences for the import of goods into and the export of goods out of Trinidad and Tobago through the TTBizLink platform. Some applications include import permits, export permits and duty relief licences. In keeping with the Government’s digital transformation agenda, the TLU through the strengthening of the Single Electronic Window for Trade and Business Facilitation Programme embarked on the digitisation of its paper based records.
