–The Central Coast Olive Oil Competition has released the results from the 2021 competition, which featured premier oils produced across California. Pleasant Valley Farms, hailing from Aptos, emerged as the producer of the Best of Show entry along with Lodi’s Calivirgin taking Best of Show Flavored. “Just over 75-percent of the entries were awarded medals this year and considering all that 2020 brought, it was a good year for California olive oils, especially the Central Coast,” said Chief Judge Paul Vossen. “It was nice to see so many different olive varietals being represented at the competition as single cultivar oils or blends”.
