Karachi: The Sindh government has started distributing free kitchen gardening kits to the poor of the province to resolve the issues of hunger and economic deprivation.
The beneficiaries of this scheme include poor women in the underdeveloped parts of the province. The kitchen gardening kits are being distributed through the Sindh Irrigated Agriculture Productivity Enhancement Project of the Sindh Agriculture Department.
Around 1,500 such kits have been distributed among the farmers of District Tharparkar alone where poverty has been widespread due to harsh weather and desert-like terrain of the area. The inhabitants of other districts of Sindh have been given 4,700 such kits.

The Sindh government has said that it has started distributing free kitchen gardening kits among the destitute farmers of the province in order to overcome the prevailing economic and food crises in the agriculture sector.
In a statement issued on Friday, Agriculture Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahoo said that some 1,500 kitchen gardening kits had been distributed among farmers in District Tharparkar alone in the first phase.
Some 4,700 kitchen gardening kits are being distributed among the deserving farmers in the rest of the districts of the province.
A total of 10,100 kitchen gardening kits will be given away in the province under an initiative of the Sindh Agriculture Department.

According to FIA officials, during the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the accused Dayal Das is an employee of the Sindh Agriculture Department.
Earlier the FIA had arrested three accused from Karachi a few days ago, including Dayal Das, in the sugar satta case.

The Sindh government will launch a water scheme to provide tap water in different districts of Karachi, said Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday.
Addressing a delegation of Kuwait state-owned firm EnerTech at the Chief Minister’s House, he stated that he would welcome the company’s support in this venture. He added that the Sindh government had a comprehensive plan to boost the agriculture sector by installing solar tube wells and initiating cattle breeding for export. This would either be done with the private sector’s support or a Public Private Partnership (PPP).
