A grassroots initiative has formed to help save a Winona ecological staple from the threat of invasive emerald ash borer beetles.
Or perhaps more accurately stated, a “treeroots” initiative.
“Our ash trees are going to die and will soon become stumps,” promotional material for the Friends of Winona Parks (FWP) said. “If we do not act now, our parks will lose hundreds of trees.”
