According to the ProWein Business Report 2020, which was released this morning, the current pandemic has hit smaller wineries the hardest.
ProWein will take place on 27-29 March 2022
The ProWein report, which was conducted on behalf of the exhibition organiser by Geisenheim University, surveyed experts from 49 countries at the end of 2020, and focused on the effects of Covid-19 on the global wine industry.
While highlighting a number of developments caused by the pandemic, including a boom in online wine communication, the report draws attention to the particular problems for small wine producers tied to the hamstrung hospitality sector, and forecasts further losses for the wine trade in 2021.
