Subscriber only Gympie District Court has played the recording of a 000 call on Tuesday which was made the night a Cooloola Cove man is accused of attacking two women. The 47-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with committing two counts of common assault occasioning bodily harm, two counts of choking and one count of common assault in 2018. The jury heard several recordings of evidence from a woman and her teenage daughter, including a recording of the woman making a 000 call where she told the operator the man had assaulted her daughter, who had tried to intervene.

The 31-year-old Gympie region man appeared in custody via video link on charges including rape and torture. Crown Prosecutor Stephanie Gallagher said his victim was requested to give evidence in person, despite stating her inability to give evidence while in her alleged attacker s presence.

On August 2, 2019, the woman, 26, was at a pub with her husband and a friend. The trio were drinking until about 9.30pm when the husband wanted to go home and the woman stayed out with her friend. The friend was talking to a stranger which is how the woman first met Cody John Lisle, then 23. Somehow all four ended up at the friend s nearby unit. Cody John Lisle pleaded guilty to sexual assault.

Tamika Geiger appeared by video in Gympie District Court on Friday while remanded in custody and pleaded guilty to all charges. In late 2019 and early 2020, Geiger committed multiple offences throughout Gympie, including unlawfully using a motor vehicle, driving off with petrol five times, stealing money, failing to stop for police, driving without a licence having never held one, failing to dispose of two syringes and possessing a pipe.
