Rifle ends regular season with win over Jacksonville State Posted By: Simon Elfrink February 16, 2021 Simon Elfrink Racer rifle ended their regular season by defeating Jacksonville State 4680-4635 on Sunday, Feb. 14.  The event’s top ten shooters featured Racers at the first, second, third and fifth slots. Freshman Allison Henry finished her first season topping the charts, placing first with an aggregate score of 1178 on an event-high 587 smallbore and a 591 air rifle score. Sophomore Matias Kiuru was right behind Henry with an aggregate score of 1173, built on a smallbore score of 579 and a 594 in air rifle, which was the highest air rifle score on the day.

Posted By: Simon Elfrink January 25, 2021 Simon Elfrink selfrink@murraystate.edu Murray State Rifle placed second among six competitors on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Pat Spurgin Rifle Range.  Trailing only the University of Kentucky in the end, the Racers totaled a season-high aggregate score of 4694 on a 2340 score in smallbore and a 2354 in air rifle.  Sophomore Matias Kiuru had a career day, shooting personal best scores in all three scoring categories. Kiuru shot a 588 in smallbore and a 597 in air rifle to total 1185 in the aggregate column. Only two other shooters both from Kentucky shot a higher aggregate score on the day.

Brown uploaded the book, which addresses diversity in gender identities, as a thread on Twitter. Only hours later, the first tweet in the thread went viral with over 102,000 likes and 42,000 retweets. “I was beyond excited,” Brown said. “It exploded the same day I posted it, and I remember being ecstatic when it reached 500 likes just a couple hours after posting it. Over the course of about three days it reached its peak of 102k likes and 42k shares. My phone was entirely unusable for that week.”

Track starts 2021 at Boo Rogers Combine Events Posted By: Simon Elfrink January 19, 2021 Simon Elfrink selfrink@murraystate.edu Four members of Murray State track and field competed at the Boo Rogers Combine Events in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Friday, Jan. 15, to kick off the 2021 season.  Redshirt junior Jessikha Ribeiro finished fifth among 13 competitors in the pentathlon with 3117 points, while sophomore Jenna Pauly placed eighth with a score of 2900. Sophomore Meghan Fletcher finished tenth overall, but took a first place victory during the high jump competition with a mark of 1.63m. Ribeiro and Pauly tied for second in the high jump at 1.60m each. Sophomore Anna Vollet’s high jump mark was 1.42m.
