Supreme court to rule on finally freeing the quay

Supreme court to rule on finally freeing the quay A FINAL decision on the future of Mistley Quay will be made by the Supreme Court today following years of legal wranglings. A two-metre high metal fence was installed along the quay more than 12 years ago by port owners TW Logistics. The ground breaking-decision could have an impact on village green applications from across the country. Free the Quay campaigners have been fighting against the fence since it went up. The site was registered as a village green in 2014 after public inquiry, but TW Logistics challenged the decision at the High Court, which was turned down in 2016.

Campaigners say no to 120 tent campsite in Bradfield

CAMPAIGNERS have hit out over plans for an 120-pitch campsite in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A petition group, called Beautiful Bradfield, was launched after a change of use application to turn farmland into a campsite was lodged to Tendring Council by Ragmarsh Farm. If the plans are given the greenlight, the campsite would be based by the River Stour on land west of Shore Lane. Campers would be able to use the site between April 1 and October 1. But campaigners are concerned the campsite would increase traffic around the village, and locals would experience noise, litter and pollution from campers.
