A private construction company has been asked to repair the damage it has done to a road near Kilmore Quay after the completion of a wastewater treatment project in the area. SISK, which carried out works on the €12.5m project, has been asked to attend a meeting with members of the Rosslare Municipal District (RMD) to discuss the state of the Grange Road in south Wexford.

The realisation that works to protect the rapidly disappearing coastline at Rosslare Strand are not due to begin for at least two years has left Labour councillor George Lawlor warning of the “monumental difficulties” which lie ahead for people in the area. At a Dáil hearing, Cllr Lawlor’s party colleague, Deputy Brendan Howlin, requested an update on the coastal protection scheme in the Strand from new Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW Kieran O Donnell.

A member of the Rosslare district has called upon the council to sever all ties with Johnstown Castle following a perceived snub for an event last week. The event in question saw a historic stained glass window unveiled at the castle to much fanfare and ceremony. However, despite hosting its annual civic awards at Johnstown and supporting the Jazz at Johnstown event, no one from the Rosslare Municipal District (RMD) was invited to the event.
