After struggling to get witnesses to court, criminal charges were stayed against a man and woman who had been accused of threatening the residents of a Simcoe home with guns last year.
Just before 8 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2020, Norfolk OPP got a 911 call about an incident at a Norfolk Street South home.

They found and arrested Thomas Hangyasi, 42, and Alexandra Prime, 28, both of Brant County, charging each of them with intimidation, forcible confinement, using a firearm while committing an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a gun knowing the serial number had been tampered with. Hangyasi was also charged with disobeying a court order and failing to comply with two undertakings.
