We know the world is truly getting back to normal now that the Eurovision Song Contest is back on. Covid derailed last year s competition, but this year s show will be broadcast live from Rotterdam.
You ll have to wait until Saturday, May 22 to see the UK s entry (along with France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, Team GB gets a pass to the grand finale). So while you wait, you can read my completely subjective, hopelessly biased list of the five best songs in this year s Eurovision Song Contest:

Malta’s Destiny “Je Me Casse” Eurovision 2021 second rehearsal
Oliver: What a way to kick off today’s rehearsals. Even at 10:00 AM, Destiny’s vocal is superb. The Maltese star is slaying the stage in a new silver dress with huge draping sleeves. She’s still wearing the pink boots though this time they didn’t fall down and her dancers remain in their original pink outfits. It’s an interesting styling choice to say the least, but it maintains the visual connection between all the performers on stage while simultaneously drawing the eye to Destiny as the star of the show. As if it was ever questioned, Malta is in it to win it.
