Battle Creek police are investigating the death of a man earlier this week who had his car stolen after he died.
Mark Taylor, 58, of Benton Harbor was found dead about 8:34 a.m. Wednesday in his residence at Silver Star Apartments, 44 Clark Road, which are adjacent to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Detective Tyler Sutherland said officers went to the apartment after a family member from out of state notified police he had been unable to contact Taylor.
Police found the body in bed. Other residents last saw him on Sunday.
Detective Sgt. Joel Case said an autopsy by the Calhoun County Medical Examiner at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine found no obvious signs of trauma or cause of death.
