North Smithfield looks to expand pedestrian access amid growing demand
NORTH SMITHFIELD – For all its scenic farmland and historic village centers, North Smithfield has not typically been known as a walking or biking destination.
Much of the town’s undeveloped land is tucked away in private parcels, and residents occasionally complain about spotty sidewalk access in neighborhoods such as Forestdale and Union Village, where former mill communities have given way to bustling thoroughfares.
Caddo Sheriffs Arrest Three In Grocery Store Theft

Shoppers Value on Greenwood Road reported that the cashiers devised a scheme to commit theft by voiding transactions and keeping the money charged for the items or not fully charging customers. The total loss to the business was exactly $76,349.
The following suspects, all from Shreveport, were arrested by Caddo Sheriff’s Det. Mike King:
Deja Greer, 25, of the 9000 block of Mansfield Road;
Kimberly Jones, 51, of the 2600 block of Silver Pines Boulevard; and
Gabrielle LeFall, 28, also of the 2600 block of Silver Pines Boulevard.
All were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for felony theft. The incident is also still under investigation.
