The Bavarian National Museum s curator, Matthias Weniger, is returning stolen silver objects taken from Jewish families during the 1930s. The museum has 111 of these objects, which were ordered to be pawned by Jewish families in Germany, and thousands more were melted into 135 tonnes of silver for Nazi war efforts.
