On Dec. 22, the board made an emergency rule to increase the Covid-19 restrictions after a spike of cases in the community. This included a 10 p.m. closure time for all bars, restaurants and casinos, and establishments were held to a capacity of 50 percent. These restrictions were not popular among many small businesses.

Two of the fatalities occurred in January. Six of the fatalities are associated with community members at large, while two are associated with Continental Care and Rehabilitation Center. One fatality is associated with each of the following care homes – The Springs at Butte, BeeHive Homes of Butte, and Crest Nursing Home.

Butte-Silver Bow has seen 41 fatalities overall and last updated 2020-12-21 18:04:58-05 The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department confirmed Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, three additional COVID-19-related fatalities in the community. All three deaths are associated with members of the community at large, according to Health Officer Karen Sullivan. With the most recent deaths, Butte-Silver Bow has seen 41 fatalities overall, related to COVID-19. The Health Department issued its weekly data report Monday. As of Sunday, Dec. 20, the department was reporting 2,840 positive cases in the county, since the county was informed of its first case March 13. Of those, 2,625 have recovered, and 174 cases remain active.
