It turns out parking citations in the parking lot of a St. Joseph hotel are not fake. Public Safety director Steve Neubecker says they’re not being written by his officers and explains what’s going on.
“I received a phone call from Jay Patel, the owner of Silver Beach Hotel,” says Neubecker. “He has hired a parking company to enforce parking at the Silver Beach Hotel. Anyone who parks there and doesn’t pay will be cited. That’s where those came from.”
The citations began showing up this past weekend, and the public safety department had previously said on Facebook the tickets were a scam. The parking lot of Silver Beach Hotel is not part of the city’s free parking downtown and to park there, you need to be a guest or pay the hotel.

DETROIT – The state of Michigan has suspended the liquor licenses of 41 businesses for violating various COVID-19 safety rules. Here’s a list of all the businesses, along with suspension details.
