Vor gut dreißig Jahren, im Frühjahr 1991, nahm die Idee Gestalt an, in Lindau-Aeschach ein gemeinsames Pfarrfest zu organisieren, schreibt Pfarrer Thomas Bovenschen in einer entsprechenden Pressemitteilung. Es seien vor allem die beiden damaligen Pfarrer, Ralf Guggenmos und Dekan Johannes Egger, gewesen, die zusammen mit den Leitungsgremien der beiden Kirchengemeinden nach einer Lösung suchten, um die gemeinsame Vision zu realisieren.
Im ersten Jahr wurde der Gottesdienst zu Beginn des mehrteiligen Programms noch getrennt gefeiert. Nur wenige hundert Meter entfernt, in der katholischen Pfarrkirche St. Ludwig, lud Gisela Jobst mit einer Gruppe von Kindern und einer Musikgruppe dazu ein, von der neuen Stadt zu träumen.
