Power dept officers asked to check illegal activities

Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Moatoshi Longkumer, has cautioned the officers of the Power department to be aware of some “rotten apples in the basket” who might be indulging in meter tampering and manipulating meters in connivance with the consumers and stated that such activities should be checked and put to stop. He stated this during the celebration of Bijlee Mahotsav, initiated by Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on the theme “Ujjwal Bharat and Ujjwal Bhavishya” power @2047 on Friday at Signal Angami Village, Dimapur. While appreciating the Power department and its officials for their service, Longkumer called upon the department to check against their workers indulging in illegal activities and put an end so that the budget deficit that Nagaland is facing today could be slowly overcome.
