Starting Friday at 5 p.m. bars in North Carolina can open at 30% capacity indoors for the first time in nearly a year. North Carolina state leaders also relaxed the hours for on-site alcohol consumption till 11 p.m. The Thirsty Beaver Saloon in Plaza Midwood has been closed indoors since last March. “The last year has been a real struggle,”  Brian Wilson, co-owner of the Thirsty Beaver Saloon said. “Being as small as we are, we haven’t opened up, even though in the last few months you could open up as an outside venue with 30 percent capacity. We just didn’t feel like that was going to be sustainable or profitable.”
