From 7-11 p.m., guests will take trolleys to various locations to enjoy bacon-themed drink and appetizer samples. At the end of the evening they’ll cast their votes for the worthiest contenders.
Hosted by South Cape Hospitality & Entertainment Association, the popular event takes place in Cape Coral’s Entertainment District.
“South Cape businesses and attendees are excited for the return of BaconFest,” says SCHEA Board Member David Townsend. “I mean, who doesn’t love bacon? Participating locations are getting creative for your palate this year – from salty, spicy and savory to sweet and so much more! It continues to be a flavorful event.”

Cape Coral police cleared an area near downtown on Saturday evening after a suspicious package was found. It was later deemed to be harmless and its owner was located.
Police had an increased presence in the 800 block of SE 47th Terrace, near the LeeTran bus station, from about 5 p.m. to just before 7:30 p.m. as they investigated.
Some streets and businesses were impacted during the investigation.
“It’s a little weird. I have never experienced this before,” said Chris Cohen, who owns nearby Sidecar Treats.
