Apple overshadowing Everything Else, it is passover, so i thought of how is this day different from any other day earnings season . It is also seasonally and apple appropriate. Let us look at the major averages that are hovering near the lows of the session. As investors await all the various events that scarlet was talking about, as it is bring break, we do see a drop in volume and this pause at the very least from the rally that we had last week that took other major averages as well and other individual groups to multimonth highs. If you look the s p 500, its sort of made a little bit of an attempt at a bounce an hour ago and did not quite go anywhere. It is still down one half of 1 . Take a look at the bloomberg for volume in the various groups of the s p 500. Overall volume is down 10 to 11 . Telecom is seeing a particular slot, financials as well. Unless something crazy happens today, this will prove, though, to be a very good month for most of the stock market. The dow, if youre not paying attention, up more than 7 just this month. It is now 1. 5 up for the year. We are going to take a closer look at some of the quarters surprising winners and losers, see if theres names that you own on either of those lists. Dow component ge in the news today. Ge capital officially filing to have its too big to fail designation removed after shedding a large number of its financial assets. The company does continue to transform. We talked about that yesterday, but well get more on what this may mean for the state and the entire Financial Services industry. The s p is up 18 points right now, nearly 1 there to 2085. The nasdaq adding 36. Its actually the underperformer on the session to 4,922. Well also and well get to this in a moment talk about what were seeing across the benchmark interest year 10year. Have to talk about oil as well. Very strong. I dont know if you can show oil right now, but last i saw it was up about 5 . Its now 6. 25 gain for u. S. Oil. Wti. Thats at 52. Brent north sea crude is at 58. First net is their first priority. Because this is no pra jorty of comment about people that we work with, but first net is a secondary item for them. They have a fulltime day job and we pile on top of that. We probably dont get the urgency that we feel about things. So to the degree we can take accountability and responsibility for those functions well obviously follow all the rules and regulations but we would have an opportunity to move more quickly. Id like to see what we can do about improving that and also taking responsibility from commerce and obviously e we wouldnt do that until such time were prepared. We went through that process with our finance organization. Initially, they provided support for us. Today we do a lot of that work ourselves. So i think we have demonstrated we can bring in the right resources with the right talent and training, put the controls in place to cause people to feel comfortable to fullfill that.
