Image Source: IANS News Lucknow, May 17 : The Uttar Pradesh government has set up Covid Care Centres at Reserve Police Lines across 66 districts of Uttar Pradesh for police personnel. The centres will provide proper isolation and quarantine facility and immediate required medical aid to asymptomatic and mild symptomatic police personnel. These Covid-care centres have 2993 beds, out of which 299 are oxygen beds in the Police Lines. Covid Care Centres have also been established at about 34 PAC Battalions.

INTRODUCTION The Coronavirus disease 2019, hereinafter referred to as COVID-19, is caused by SARS CoV-2 Virus and is the third recorded animal-to-animal transmission of a Coronavirus, after Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS, 2002), and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS, 2012). The first COVID-19 case was detected in Hubei Province, China, on 17 November 2019. Since then, the disease has spread throughout the globe to the extent to be declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), on 11 March 2020. As of 14 November 2020, the number of cases stands at 53,164,803, including 1,300,576 deaths worldwide.
